Central Florida DeafBlind Junction

Central Florida DeafBlind Junction (CFDBJ) is a female-run, DeafBlind-led community dedicated to fostering meaningful connections, gatherings, and opportunities for individuals within the DeafBlind community.

Our mission is to create a welcoming space where hands, hearts, and experiences come together in mutual respect, empowerment, and celebration.

The Meaning Behind CFDBJ

Just as a junction is a meeting place where different paths meet and continue forward together, CFDBJ represents a gathering point where people, experiences, and perspectives join to move ahead in unity.

We invite you to explore and understand the deeper purpose behind this name. Together, we can make this "junction" more than just a word—it can become a living, thriving community where every member contributes to a stronger, more connected Central Florida.

The Essence of Central Florida DeafBlind Junction

Central Florida:
This defines the heart of Florida—from the Gulf Coast (Citrus to Sarasota counties) to the Atlantic Coast (Volusia to Brevard counties). It provides a clear sense of place, grounding our community within a recognizable and accessible region.

DeafBlind:
This term embodies a unique and unified cultural identity—one that embraces both deafness and blindness as interconnected experiences. It is not merely a condition, but a culture with its own language, values, and perspectives.

Junction:
More than its dictionary meaning, Junction symbolizes connection, inclusion, and empowerment. It represents a shared space where DeafBlind individuals can come together, exchange ideas, and build lasting relationships. It is a hub of belonging—where independence, collaboration, and community thrive without barriers.
